Rev. Ronald Stelzer, Head Coach
For 34 years Pastor Stelzer has led Our Savior Lutheran Church, which founded Our Savior New American School in 1992. He has been the head coach of the Boys Varsity team since its inception and has averaged over 20 wins per season.
The son of an athletic director and coach, Pastor played his collegiate ball for nationally ranked, Elite 8 Davidson College under legendary coaches Lefty Driesell, Larry Brown, and Terry Holland. After college he also played for Concordia Seminary in St. Louis and Campus Crusade for Christ's Athletes in Action. He was inducted into his alma mater's high school's Athletic Hall of Fame in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and was honored as National Coach of the Year in 2003 by the National Association of Christian Athletes.
Pastor Stelzer and wife Margaret have six grown children who played for Our Savior and collegiately, and two have earned doctorates, and two grandchildren.

Eric Jaklitsch, Associate Head Coach
Home to Sayville New York, Coach Eric Jaklitsch enters his 12th season as Associate Head Coach with the OSNAS Boys Varsity Basketball Program. Coach Jaklitsch oversees and is involved in all facets of the basketball program including family communication, team travel, scheduling and advanced scouting preparation, with his central focus as college recruiting coordinator and game coaching.
Coach Jaklitsch is responsible for developing and mentoring some of the best OSNAS teams in the last decade. In 2017, two OSNAS graduates Boubacar Diakite and Mamadou Doucoure received full scholarships to St. Johns (NY) and Rutgers (NJ), respectively. In 2015, the graduating class consisted of four nationally ranked players in Cheick Diallo (University of Kansas), Davon Dillard (Oklahoma State), Damon Wilson (University of Pittsburgh), and Kassoum Yakwe (St. John’s). Furthermore, Cheick Diallo was a consensus top-10 player in the country and earned MVP honors at the McDonald’s All-American game and Jordan Brand Classic while playing in the Nike Hoop Summit this past season. Other past players include Chris Obekpa (UNLV), Mike Nzei (Seton Hall), Jevon Thomas (Seton Hall), Felix Balamou (St. John’s) and Juan Palacios (Louisville). Coach Jaklitsch has coached, developed, mentored, and graduated over 20 division 1 players during his time at OSNAS.
Prior to his arrival at OSNAS, Jaklitsch spent four years as a head student-manager at the University of Albany for Head Coach Will Brown. During that time he worked doing video scouting and editing, team travel, recruiting travel and assisted with player development. Jaklitsch was able to work with two America East Rookies of the Year Jamar Wilson (2003) and Jon Iati (2004). Jaklitsch graduated from University at Albany with a BS in Communications.
Coach Jaklitsch stated, “Coaching basketball allows me to work with student athletes and their families through positive mentorship guidance, discipline and dedication, as they engage in their personal dreams. I love to watch young student athletes who achieve their goals in life because of their passion and commitment to sports.”

Sara Stelzer, Assistant Coach
Sara Stelzer was born and raised in Selden, NY. She graduated from Our Savior New American School in 2009. She competed at the varsity level in basketball and volleyball starting at 7th grade where she made all conference. She attended Concordia-NY and graduated from Concordia University Chicago with a B.A. in Exercise Science. There she competed collegiately in NCAA Division II and III Women's Basketball. Sara had been part of the coaching staff for the Varsity Boys Basketball team since 2013 and also coaches during the summer basketball camps held in Centereach, NY. She currently holds a position as a Personal Training Counselor at LA Fitness in Centereach where she helps members to optimizing their health and physical fitness.

Stephanie Rivas, Team Statistician
Stephanie was born and raised in Queens, NY. She attended Christ the King Regional HS and High school for Arts and Business where she was a 4 year captain and ranked 5th in PSAL Soccer. She went on to play NCAA Division II and III Women's Soccer at Concordia Bronxville and Concordia University Chicago. She graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in 2013. Stephanie has been a part of the Our Savior Basketball staff for 2 years and currently works in the school. She is also affiliated with SportsChallenge Leadership Academy where she coaches, mentors, and teaches athletes from diverse backgrounds.
