The student government had the honor of hosting a food and baby drive during Spirit Week (Oct. 11th-14th). The items collected included clothing, diapers, and other standard baby items, along with canned food and dry food goods. Recently on November 4th, Student Government was able to deliver all of these items to Soundview Pregnancy Center in Centereach and also Mercy House in Sayville. At Soundview Pregnancy, the students were able to tour the center under supervision and were provided with ways in which to encourage others during difficult situations. At the end of the visit, everyone prayed for the ministry.
The next stop on November 4th was to Mercy House in Sayville. The students delivered canned non-perishable food to the ministry, which helps women from the ages of 18-24 years who are in need of any support as new parents. The students were blessed to hear that this specific delivery was an answered prayer as Mercy House’s cabinets were running low.
