Dear OSNAS Family,
Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). This freedom is characterized by the fruits of Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. With this in mind, we aim to make every week at OSNAS a Spirit week. Nevertheless, we are doing several things this week that show our school spirit. Although a letter went home last week that detailed these events, it certainly bears repeating since there is so much going on. Here is what’s happening…
Tuesday – Pajama Day
Wednesday – Wacky Hat/Tie/Socks (with normal Wednesday uniform)
Thursday – Decades Day (dress like someone from the 50s through 80s)
Friday – Class Color Day
K and 6th-Red
1st and 7th- Yellow
2nd and 8th- Orange
3rd and 9th- Purple
4th and 10th- Blue
5th and 11th- Green
12th – Black
Friday – Spiritual Life Day
We are collecting supplies for care packages from now until Friday, October 13th. Please help us by sending your child in with the listed supplies so they can pack a shoebox (provided by the school) for people in need. This year’s ministry is to foster children and survivors of human trafficking. The students will be able to write an encouraging message as well.
Grades K-6 bring in the following supplies (shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste, toothbrush, body Wash or soap, socks, markers & pencils)
Grades 7-12 bring in the following supplies (sweatshirt, sweatpants, t-shirts for male students or sports bra for female students, deodorant for male students or brush for female students, shampoo & conditioner, body wash or soap, toothbrush & toothpaste)
Grades 5-12 bring supplies to Mrs. Reade in the school office.
Friday – Pep Rally
The Pep Rally will be at 2pm. All parents welcome! Students in grades K-4 will be performing their Spirit Dances and the Volleyball and Soccer Teams will be announced.
Saturday – Homecoming Parade
All parents, students, teachers and alumni will gather at the school at 12:15pm. We will then parade in a one-mile in loop with a police escort that will end up back at the school (this is different from the previous email). If you prefer not to walk, another option is to decorate your car and ride in the parade. Students should wear their OSNAS gym shirts or Jesus Never Stops shirts. We want to show the community who we are and who we stand for!!!
Saturday – Homecoming Festival
From 1:00pm to 3:00pm, students in grades K-6 will be treated to a series of carnival games at the school (no longer at the fields). They will be able to earn “Pioneer Bucks” to obtain a gift at the prize table. The PTC is also planning on supplying hot dogs and some fun entertainment for the kids. All this is absolutely free!
Saturday – Alumni Games
OSNAS Alumni are invited to come and play against the Girls Volleyball Team in the gym at 1:30pm and against the Boys Soccer Team at the field behind the school at 3:30pm (NOT at the field on Hawkins).
Saturday – Homecoming Social
This event goes from 7:00-9:30pm and is for students in grades 7-12 as well as any alumni. There will be pizza, an ice cream bar, a volleyball net for pickup games, Mario Kart competition on the big screen, music, games and the I.F.E.E. Court reveal! The dress code is comfortable. Students can wear t-shirts and jeans but should be on par with the school’s Friday dress code expectations.
May God bless us all with a Spirit-filled week!
Peace in the Lord +
