Dear OSNAS Family,
On Friday, several teachers and I were able to travel to visit another classical school in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. As teachers of young minds and hearts, one of the best things we can do as parents and teachers is to be perpetual students. The more we learn, the more we have to offer those we are serving, teaching and parenting. Here are some things to note moving forward:
- There is a Parent Teacher Connection meeting tonight at 7pm in the Creation Room. All parents are welcome to attend.Â
- The date for our Parent-Teacher Conferences to discuss the progress of your child has been moved from Oct. 27th to Nov. 10th. We are doing this to allow those who would like to attend the Soundview Pregnancy Center Banquet (on Oct 27th) the option to go. If you are interested in attending, please feel free to email me as we would be happy to have you at our school table.Â
- Next week is Spirit Week! During this week, we show school spirit through dress up days, collections for community service organizations, a pep rally and more. The week culminates with a Community Festival at 1 Hawkins Road in Centereach from 12-4pm with food, face painting, bouncy house, Alumni games, and more. We will be sending home a RSVP form to get a general ballpark number for food planning purposes. The dress days and donation items are listed below.Â
Tuesday – Pajama Day – Canned Goods
Wednesday – Wacky Hat and Tie Day – Boxed GoodsÂ
Thursday – Athlete or Mathlete – Toiletries
Friday – Class Color – Baby items
Thank you for teaching your children to be generous and remember those less fortunate. We plan on donating the items to Mercy House in Sayville for homeless young mothers and to Soundview Pregnancy Center here in Centereach. Â
