Dear OSNAS Family,
We are just two short weeks away from the start of our 30th academic year as a school. God has been very good to us. We have been busy with preparations for the upcoming school year. I wanted to share with you some information as we head toward the start line…
1. For grades 7-12, your books should be available at BOCES if you are registered with the school and your district. You may pick them up during their hours of operation. Each grade will receive additional books from the school on the first day of school.
2. For grades 5-12 that are operating under the block schedule (alternating days labeled navy and maroon), this does not mean that you have to wear the color of that day. It simply is a way of knowing what classes will be held on that particular day.
3. The ability to sign up for lunch for the day, week or month will be available a couple days before school starts.
4. Grades 7-11 will be able to select their electives starting Monday, August 30th. You should receive an email on that day from our Guidance Counselor Stephanie Seaton. Seniors already have the capability of selecting courses.
5. We are pleased to welcome 5 new teachers to the OSNAS faculty: Alicia Indence (2nd Grade), Andrea Negron (4th Grade), Paulette Renna (English), David Fagerland (English), and Bruce Bennett (Bible and Government). We will be posting their photos and biographies on the website in the week.
6. New Student Orientation is at 2:30pm on September 8th for grades K-12.
7. Students will be allowed to put their belongings in their lockers on September 8th from 4-5:30pm as well as purchase locks if need be. Otherwise this can be done on the first day of school which is Thursday, September 9th.
8. It is my belief that decisions regarding masks and vaccinations should rest with the parents. I pray that we can operate this way for the coming year. Please keep this in prayer as well. For more information on how we hope to deal with COVID this year, please click here.
God’s blessings on your final two weeks of summer vacation. We look forward to welcoming you back for our 30th year of Christ-centered education.
Peace in the Lord +
