OSNAS Update – Tuesday, October 12th, 2021
Happy Spirit Week Everyone! We are off to a great start with Pajama Day in full effect and a gathering of canned goods to serve those in need.Â
Â
Another opportunity to serve those in need would be to give blood at the school today from 1:30 to 7:30pm. Giving blood is a small reminder of what Christ did for us when He gave it all for our forgiveness and salvation.Â
Â
Tomorrow is “Wacky Wednesday”. Students and teachers may come to school with a wacky tie, hat or pair of socks over the uniform.Â
Â
Friday is Spiritual Life Day. We will have a speaker come in from Soundview Pregnancy Services to talk to grades 5-12 about the importance of valuing life no matter how small. Her own story includes themes of abortion, abuse, substance abuse and suicide. As always, you are welcome to join us in the gymnasium from 9:55-11:10am. If you do not want your child to hear about these themes, you may contact me or the Dean and your child will receive an excused absence for the day. The school will be providing free pizza for all students on Friday, and the students can purchase or bring any additional items for lunch.Â
Â
Friday at 2pm is also our Pep Rally in which the elementary grades will perform their cheers and dances and athletic teams will be announced! Parents are encouraged to attend by first gathering on the lawn just south of the church where all students will parade before entering the gym.Â
Â
Saturday consists of alumni soccer and volleyball games (2 and 4pm) and the Homecoming Dance. Grades 5-8 are invited to come to the dance from 7:00-8:30pm and grades 9-12 from 8:15-10pm. The Homecoming Court (based on the school’s Core Values – I.F.E.E.) will be announced at 8:15pm.Â
Â
Have a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered week!
