In a typical year, the seniors of OSNAS go on a retreat in September to bond and grow spiritually. Due to COVID, the retreat was postponed. But thanks be to God, it was not canceled. On May 16th, 13 seniors and 8 chaperones ventured to Lake Pleasure in South Fallsburg to spend a couple days at Joe Schneider’s house on the lake. Joe is the Financial Director of the school and for about two decades now, he has graciously opened his house to the seniors. While at the lake house, the soon-to-be graduates had the opportunity to kayak, swim, fish, relax in the jacuzzi, play ping pong, do various activities (including a scavenger hunt), eat delicious Bar-B-Que and smores, and much more. Most of all, the seniors were able to enjoy time together as they prepare for graduation. Jesus was once again the center of the retreat with prayer and Bible studies each morning and night. He blessed all who went with such a good time that they were lobbying for an extra day at the lake. In the end, the responsibilities on Long Island called them home, but the memories they made will not be left behind. Â
