From the beginning, Spirit Week at OSNAS has been about students, faculty, and staff coming together as a community to not just show school spirit but also to be filled with God’s Spirit. Throughout the week students hear God’s Word and respond by giving to people in need. Students bring canned goods, baby supplies, dry goods, and other items that are donated to local non-profit organizations.
Friday of Spirit Week is the annual Spiritual Life Day. This year’s theme is supporting unborn babies around the world. Guests from Soundview Pregnancy Services will be coming to encourage students to see unborn children as people worthy of value and protection. The students will also decorate and plant flags in the school lawn to raise prayerful awareness to the issue.
At the end of the day on Friday, the whole school gathers for a Pep Rally that includes cheers, choreographed dances from the elementary school, the announcement of the school volleyball and soccer teams, and the singing of the school fight song. Â
Students have had the opportunity to dress up each day in a common theme (see below for photos). If you find yourself at school this week, it won’t take long before you catch the spirit of Our Savior. May God’s Spirit fill us all!
