Josette Leon

Dean of Faculty and Social Studies

My name is Josette Leon. I’m honored to serve as Dean of Faculty and to teach 9th, 11th, and 12th grade American History and Government at Our Savior New American School. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from St. Joseph’s College and a Master of Arts in History from the American Public University System. I’m certified by the State of New York to teach Social Studies in grades 7–12.

My journey at OSNAS began eighteen years ago with a phone call from Principal Reade inviting me to teach 8th Grade Social Studies. That moment was truly life-changing and marked the beginning of a calling I’ve been grateful to follow ever since.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of serving in many roles—teaching History and English as a Second Language, mentoring students, leading the Student Government for ten years, and helping coordinate the 11th and 12th grade spring formal. Each experience has shaped me and deepened my commitment to this community.

As Dean of Faculty, I serve as a liaison between teachers and administration, working to support our shared mission and foster a Christ-centered environment where both students and staff can thrive. Teaching remains my first love, and I consider it a blessing to be part of a school where faith, learning, and service come together.

I look forward to continuing to grow alongside our students and staff, trusting the Lord to guide each step of the way.

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” — Proverbs 22:6
