OSNAS Ninth Graders Visit Capitol
Dear OSNAS Family,
I hope you had a blessed celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection. Because Jesus lives, we have hope. Life gets the final word for all those who trust in Jesus.
I had the pleasure of traveling to Washington D.C. with our ninth grade class last week. The cherry blossoms were in full glory and the students got to experience three days of action packed learning about our nation’s Christian heritage. We guided tours of the Capital Building, Supreme Court, White House, Library of Congress, Lincoln Memorial, Museum of the Bible, George Washington’s church in Alexandria and home at Mount Vernon. The kids had a wonderful time and made memories that are sure to last a lifetime. We look forward to future historical excursions!
Upcoming Events:
- There will be a solar eclipse on Monday, April 8th from 2:12-4:37PM. God is so amazing that he made the moon and sun appear to be the same size in the sky by making the sun 400 times wider and placing it 400 times further away. We would like our students to appreciate this wonder of God’s creation without damaging their eyes. As a precaution, the school will be purchasing and providing each student with eclipse glasses so that they can briefly view the eclipse upon exiting the school at dismissal. If you do not want your child to do this but to simply get on the bus, please let us know by emailing paul.licausi@osnas.org. All students will be instructed to keep the glasses on while boarding the busses.
- On Wednesday, April 10th during Daily Prayer, the students in grades K-6 will be showcasing their Historical Speeches and Songs. Students are encouraged to dress in the attire of the time period they are studying to add to the effect. As always, all are welcome to attend.
- Spring Soccer begins this week! The first opportunity is a FREE after school intramural program for grades 1-6 on Thursdays in April and May. Please sign up here for this opportunity. The second opportunity is the soccer club that will meet on Fridays (3:15-5:15pm) and Saturdays (10AM-12PM) in April and May. This is for all grades and there is a $250 cost for this program. During these days, we will be partnering with Victory Christian Academy who will be bringing over their students to participate in the soccer training and games. Please sign up here for this opportunity. Students can sign up for one or both opportunities. It will all take place at the fields behind OSNAS.
