OSNAS Takes a Journey to Bethlehem
Dear OSNAS Family,
I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and that the 2,025th year after Jesus’ birth is filled with His favor on your family. The school finished out year 2024 with joyful spirits. On December 18th, they were able to share the message of Christ’s birth in front of a packed gym at the annual Christmas Play & Concert. For the second year in a row, students decked the halls with scenes from the Nativity Story.
This Journey to Bethlehem inspired thoughts about having a Journey to Calvary during the lenten season with live student actors from the upper grades. More on this will be forthcoming as we put the plans in motion. At any rate, it is a blessing to see our students not just receive the Word of God, but share it with others.
OSNAS Updates:
- Please take a moment to fill out the OSNAS Parent Feedback Survey by clicking here. Your input is very much appreciated as it helps us to evaluate and reflect upon our service.
- This year our school will be offering the Classical Learning Test to our students. This national standardized test allows us to see our strengths and weaknesses as a school. This test is also accepted by many colleges alongside the SAT for upper school students. The dates the students will be taking this test are as follows:
- Feb 13 – Grades 9-10
- April 10 – Grades 11-12
- May 14 – Grades 3-8
- Grades K-2 will take our regular diagnostic test by Let’s Go Learn on May 12
- We have made a couple advances with respect to school safety this year. First, we invited the Department of Homeland Security to visit our school and critique our security measures. They were very positive about what we have in place and their one suggestion has been implemented. Second, our school is now protected by RAVE Mobile security system. This technology includes an emergency button on employee phones that allows rapid response from fire, police, ambulance and homeland security without having to wait for dispatch. You can learn more about this service by viewing this video. Nevertheless, it is important to not forget that the greatest security system is our Heavenly Father. “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress” (Psalm 46:7). While we are called to be vigilant, we should never be afraid.
- Finally, the PTC meeting tonight has been postponed for Wednesday at 7PM in the library.
God’s Blessings on your week!
