Thanksgiving Feast & Festival
In the Fall of 1620, a group of Pilgrims sailed into Cape Cod Bay in Massachusetts. Many were seeking religious liberty and a fresh start. Nearly half of the passengers on board did not survive the winter, but in the Fall of 1621, the Pilgrims had much to be thankful for. The abundant harvest and good relations with the natives brought about a 3 day occasion for feasting and gratitude to God. This was our nation’s first Thanksgiving. In remembrance of this day and of all of God’s blessings, the elementary students gathered with family members on Tuesday for a Thanksgiving Feast and Festival. Everyone enjoyed a sumptuous meal before participating in some fun activities in the gym. Thank you to all who contributed to make the event a success.
