Graduation and Summer Update
OSNAS closed out the 2024-25 school year on Friday, June 20th. We had a spirit-filled closing ceremony that included academic awards, Kindergarten graduation, a few musical numbers, a game of Beachball Keep it Up, and of course the “Word-Up Championship” (essentially Hangman where classes compete to guess the word). The 8th graders bested the seniors by guessing the word “graduation” to remain undefeated for the year and taking home the cake, literally.
In the afternoon, six seniors graduated from OSNAS. Each graduate gave a speech of gratitude to God and the many people that helped them cross the finish line. They heard a commencement address that encouraged them to continue in the godly principles that they have learned. The habits of Bible reading, prayer, praise and confession fortify us in the saving faith in Jesus. Congratulations to Abraham, Kevin, Kaylee, Faviloa, Sydney (salutatorian) and Katie (valedictorian). May God be with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9).
As we turn toward the summer break, I wanted to share some updates with you:
1. NEW TEACHERS – We hired a 4th grade elementary teacher and a 5th grade teacher. They both love the Lord and have several years of teaching experience. The 5th grade teacher will teach the majority of the 5th grade classes, but the 5th graders will also have the opportunity to join the 6th graders for specials at the end of the day (Art, PE, Choir, Health, etc.). By doing this, 5th grade will be a nice transitional year that gives them the benefit of a main teacher but also the chance to learn responsibility and travel to other classes on their own.
2. VIOLIN – Next year violin lessons will be done a little differently. These lessons will be optional. For grades 3-4, we will be pulling students from class once a week. For students in grades 5-6, we will be pulling students from a lunch period once a week. This will reduce the class sizes and allow us to give students more attention. The cost for this will be $100 for the year. For students in grades 7-12, violin lessons will operate as a Wednesday elective just as this past year.
3. SUMMER READING – If you would like your child to stay sharp over the summer, we encourage you to participate in our Summer Reading Program. This program is optional but quite helpful for maintaining a balance of fun and growth over the summer months.
4. SUMMER CAMPS AT OSNAS – Don’t forget to sign up for one or more of our summer camps in July and August… Basketball – Soccer – Vacation Bible School
5. WRITING WORKSHOP – We are also hosting a Writing Workshop for students entering into high school during the last week in July. This will help students grow in their writing skills through the writing of a college essay.
6. SUPPLY LIST – The supply list for the 2025-26 academic year is available on the website or by clicking HERE.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at wil.stelzer@osnas.org. I pray the Lord gives you a rejuvenating summer centered around HIM. God be with you!
Peace in the Lord +
