Karate for Christ!
Character. Respect. Self-discipline. Self-defense. These are some of the things that Sensei Quarlena, our black belt Bible teacher is aiming to develop. Last month, OSNAS began a brand new club called Karate for Christ. In this class, Mr. Quarlena teaches his pupils not merely the “how” of karate but the “why”. This is a major difference between secular education and Christian education. Christians should have a firm grasp on the “why” because we know the truth. We know that every human being is not a product of mindless processes but is someone created in the image of God with inestimable worth. Because of this, we know we have an responsibility to defend ourselves and those in harm’s way (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The students in karate get to grow not just in body, but in heart, mind, body and spirit.
OSNAS Updates:
- The Poetry Cup is on Wednesday at 8:15AM in the chapel. All are welcome to see the students deliver their classical poems in front of the entire school.
- Preschool students will be having their picture day this Friday.
- Full payment for the Sight and Sound trip to see Joshua is due next Monday to Mrs. Reade.
- The PTC will not be meeting tonight. The next meeting will be April 13th.
