OSNAS Thanks God for Charlie Kirk

Dear OSNAS Family,

If you were unable to watch the five hour memorial service for Charlie Kirk, I would highly recommend it. The common theme that kept coming up was Charlie’s faith in Jesus. Almost every person who spoke lifted up the name of Jesus as our nation was called back to God. Worship leaders like Chris Tomlin and Phil Wickham led everyone in praise and worship. By God’s power, Erika Kirk publicly forgave her husband’s assassin. It was a beautiful tribute to a man who fearlessly proclaimed God’s Law and Gospel.

Our school also honored Charlie in our chapel the day after he passed. The following Wednesday, students watched a couple videos that shared the heart and mission of Charlie and Ericka. I pray that God gives me and all of us the courage to stand up for Jesus even if it costs us our comfort, wealth, status, or life. “Only one life, will soon be past, Only what’s done for Christ will last.” — C.T. Studd

OSNAS Updates:

  1. Speaking of boldly standing up for Jesus, this Wednesday is See You at the Pole. This is a day in which students across the nation are encouraged to go to their flagpole and pray. Parents are welcome to join us for this event starting at 8:15AM in the chapel. Prayer in Jesus’ name is what we need in this country.
  2. This Thursday is Back to School Night. At this event for grades K-12, parents are able to walk their children’s schedule. As they go from class to class, they will hear from their children’s teachers on what the students are learning and how they can be successful in the class. It is a great opportunity to meet the people who are discipling your children and even ask some questions. Please come!
  3. Friday is our first Jesus Never Stops Day of the year. On the last Friday of each month, students are permitted to wear black or blue jeans without rips or holes if they wear a Jesus Never Stops shirt. These shirts can be purchased in the church office.
  4. OSNAS Staff and students will be doing a Prayer Walk on November 5th for Mr. Kearns, a former sailor in the Navy and father of three of our students. Mr. Kearns is awaiting a heart transplant and we want to support the family with our prayers and financial gifts. Flyers will be going out on how to do this in the days ahead.
