Science Bowl

Dear OSNAS Family,

Science is the study of the observable universe. What we observe is nothing short of amazing. This is because our universe is not the result of a random accident. It is beautiful, orderly and complex because it comes from the beautiful, orderly and infinite mind of Christ.

On March 12th, OSNAS held its second annual Science Bowl. In this competition, three students from each upper grade (7th through 12th) attempt to describe and guess as many science terms as possible in one minute. Last year the 11th graders were victorious. This year, the 7th graders came out on top. Congratulations to Gioia, Caitlyn and Natalia!

OSNAS Updates:

  1. Grades 7-12 are preparing for the inaugural performance of Journey to Calvary. Shows will be this Wednesday during chapel and on next Wednesday, March 26th at 7:15PM. Students in the play should come to school dressed in black and bring their chapel uniforms to change into after the performance.
  2. We sent home a flyer with students in grades K-6 about the Historical Speeches and Songs Day which will take place on Wednesday, April 2nd at 8:15AM. Students should come to school dressed as a person from the historical era they are studying.
  3. On Thursday this week at 1:55PM, Mike Spencer from Project LifeVoice (www.projectlifevoice.com) will be coming to speak to our kids on the topic abortion. Mike’s presentation will include a short 1-minute video clip that shows the victims of abortion. The video does not show an abortion being performed. The purpose of the video is to help students move beyond an abstract understanding of abortion and to grasp the evil injustice of abortion. Be assured, Mike introduces the video with grace & sensitivity. He also points those who may have been hurt by abortion to forgiveness through Christ. In addition, students will be given the option to avert their gaze or step out of the room if they prefer not to watch. As always, you are invited to attend the presentation as well.
