We Are Family
Dear OSNAS Family,
This year in our Daily Prayer opening services, we are walking through the life of Jesus from the Gospel of Matthew. We are up to the part where Jesus’ mother and brothers think he is crazy. They want to speak with him outside the packed house where he is teaching. When Jesus hears that his family wants to have a word with him, he asks “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Then pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.” Jesus places a higher emphasis on his spiritual family than his earthly family. Indeed, this is the only family that lasts into eternity.
